Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564) was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet and engineer. His famous works are David, the Pieta and the painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel "The Creation of Adam". One of the most influential artist of the Italian Renaissance. He believed that the painter Rafael convinced the Pope to commission him to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chape. It took him four years to paint upside down to paint the huge cheiling. There are nine scenes from the Bible , more than 300 people painted and not one is alike, and the most famous scene is "The Creation of Adam", where this scene was the most recreated in all of art history.
