John Singer Sargent
John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) was a realist American painter. Most of his years he was a portrait artist for the high society in both Europe and America. Influenced by the impressionist movement, he painted the"Madame X" to the Salon in 1884 which made a great scandal and made him discouraged and even considered leaving art. Settled back in England where he died at that time that he was most famous, while painting landscape and public art.
